Pitch Surface

Futsal must be played on a flat, smooth, non-abrasive surface.

 

The Second Penalty Mark

A second penalty mark is made 10m from the midpoint between the goalposts and equidistant to them.

 

Goals

The goals must measure 3m in length and 2m in height.

 

Players

A match is played by two teams, each consisting of no more than five players, one of whom must play in goal.

A match may not start if either team has fewer than 3 players.

A match is abandoned if one team has fewer than 3 players on the pitch.

 

Substitutions

Subs can be made at any time during the match.

Players must leave the pitch via there substitution zone

The sub only enters the pitch after the player being replaced has left the pitch.

A team can make as many substitutions in a game as they wish.

 

Changing The Goalkeeper

Any sub make change place with the goalkeeper without informing the referee.

Any player may change place with the goalkeeper, but the referee must be notified. This change must be made in a stoppage instigated by the referee.

 

Players & Substitues Send Off

A player sent off before kick off may be replaced by one of the team's substitutes.

A substitute that is sent of before or during the match may not be replaced.

A substitute player may replace a sent off players, 2 minutes after the sent off player has left the pitch. If a goal is scored by the unoffending team before the 2 minutes have been played this law applies:

If there are five players playing against four, and the team with more players score, the team with four players will be awarded a fifth player.

 

Period Of Play

Each match last two equal periods of 20 minutes.

 

Time Out

Each team is entitled to a one minute time out each period.

Teams must ask the time keeper to request a time out.

The team that have asked for the time out must be in possession of the ball, or the ball goes out of play for the time keeper to administer the time out period.

 

Kick Off

Kick off is taken at the start of each period as well as after each goal.

The opposition must be 3m from the kick off.

 

Goals Scored

A goal is scored when the whole ball crosses the goal line.

A goal is disallowed if the goalkeeper throw the ball directly form their penalty area into the oppositions goal. If however the ball deflects of a player on the way to goal, the goal will stand.

 

Fouls Penalised With A Direct Free Kick

A direct free kick will be awarded when the opposition attempts or commits any of these actions:

Kick, trips, Jumps, charges, strikes, pushes or tackles.

A direct free kick is also awarded for: A player holding or spiting, handling the ball deliberately.

 

Fouls Penalised With A Penalty Kick

A penalty kick is awarded if a player commits any of the 10 actions above inside their own penalty area, if the ball is still in play.

 

Fouls Penalised With An Indirect Free Kick

An indirect free kick is awarded if the goalkeeper commits any of these actions:

Controls the ball with his hands for more than 4 seconds.

Controls the ball with his feet in this own half for more than 4 seconds.

After playing the ball, the keeper touches it again form a deliberate pass back from a team mate, without the opposition touching the ball.

Touches the ball with his hands after it has been played back to him by a team mate.

The referee may award an indirect free kick for an action he deems inappropriate, that is not mentioned above.

 

Disciplinary Sanctions

A yellow card is show to a player that has been cautioned.

A Red card is show to a player that has been sent off.

Sent off players may be ask to leave the venue if deemed necessary.

Sent off players in the Bristol Futsal league may face disciplinary action with the GFA, as Bristol Futsal is fully affiliated with the local county FA.

 

Cautioned And Sending Off Offences

The Bristol Futsal league, abide fully with Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct).

 

Free Kicks

The opposition must be 5 yards from the infringement.

If an opponent is closer than 5 yards the kick may be played again.

Persistent offenders encroaching on a free kick may be cautioned.

 

Accumulation Foul Count

If 6 fouls have been committed in one period the opposition will be awarded a penalty, from the second penalty line.

Every foul after the 6th in one period will result in another penalty kick.

At the start of the second half the foul count goes back to zero.

 

Kick Ins And Corners

The ball must be stationary on the line before the ball can re-enter the kick.

The kicker standing foot must be off the pitch when taking the kick in.

The kicker must not take any longer than 4 seconds to take the kick.

If any of these laws are broken the kick in will be awarded to the opposition, if there were slight infringements to these laws the referee may play at his discretion to aid the flow of the game.

An opponent must be 5 yards away from all kick in, if any infringement is caused an indirect free kick may be awarded. The players may be cautioned if the referee deems it necessary.

 

Goalkeepers

Goalkeepers need to distribute the ball from their hands for goal kick situation.

Goalkeepers are not allowed to volley the ball out of their box.
